We believe children belong in families and not in an institution. Therefore we only admit children where we see no other option within their family or community, and receive support from there.

When a child is admitted in Watoto Wema Centre we immediately start working on an exit strategy to reintergrate him/her back to the community. Mostly the children will be re-united within the immediate family like grandparents, uncles or aunts. If this is not possible we will look for foster parents where a child can still enjoy the love and care of a family life. The children will receive continuos education support from Watoto Wema Centre after re-integration until the age of 23s.
